Bologna

April 23, 2017 by runalittlestories

Bologna was another hop on hop off city for me. Like Milan, i only spent one night here. Another one strange night. Not like Milan, I had a tour guide here, Fulvio. He was my colleague back in Melbourne. He was also my Italian-practice buddy. We usually greeted each other with this: Him : Buon Giorno, Maria (Good Morning, Maria) Me : Buon Giorno. Come sta? (Good Morning, how are you?) Him : Bene, e tu? (Good, and you?) Me […]

Venice

April 16, 2017 by runalittlestories

For every loss, there is hidden gain. And for every gain, there is hidden loss. A quote from Hazrat Inayat Khan is the perfect way to describe my solo trip in Venice last autumn. Unexpected gain behind a hidden loss that i couldn’t not foresee beforehand. Venice has many names. La Serenissima. City of Water. La Dominante. City of Canals. But, my favourite one is ‘The Floating City’. The fact that this city is built on top of water amazed […]

Verona

April 9, 2017 by runalittlestories

Here is a secret for you; Verona is geographically a city of love. No, its not from “Romeo and Juliet” or “Shakespeare”. It is from its city map. Look into my featured image; i left big mark there. I hope you see it. That was my first reaction when my Airbnb’s host explained city of Verona with me using her city map. She said, “Wow. I never thought like that.” It was almost dark when i arrived in Verona. Guided […]

Milan

March 12, 2017 by runalittlestories

I went to Milan using direct flight from Merignac Airport Bordeaux to Milan Malpensa Airport. I didn’t plan to spend much time here. Therefore, once i arrived in Milan, i went straight to Milano Centrale Station and deposited my backpack for about 12 hours. It was not even one day, only 12 hours before i departed to Verona. How could i experience Milan for only 12 hours? Lets start the clock now, on 5 pm in the afternoon. My intention was to […]

Bordeaux

February 27, 2017 by runalittlestories

My journey in Bordeaux started when i took a bus from Paris to Bordeaux. It was 8 hours bus. I chose bus simply because its cheaper than train. Indeed, it was a good decision. I met my first stranger here. Let’s call him Paul. He said “Hi” to me in French, then I asked if he spoke English. He did. He was Canadian who live in Quebec – a city that spoke Quebec French in Canada. I knew about Quebec because […]

The Beginning

January 15, 2017 by runalittlestories

My first question into everything usually start with “Why?”. There is no right and wrong in life path, it’s usually depends on the intention behind it. For e.g. lying. It is a bad behavior, but how about white lies? What if you lied to your parent because you didn’t want them to be worried about you? And, it is because you know your parent had a lot in their plate already. Or, it was because they were terminally ill and […]
